Welcome to Tims school of motoring. We provide quality driving lessons in a patient and caring way. Nervous students a speciality with a calm friendly approach taken to training.

Tim's School of Motoring offers driving lessons and Pass Plus courses to the young and old.

The company, which is based in Crosby (Liverpool)has many years of experience in the training profession.


The driving school delivers a variety of training including weekly lessons. Pass Plus training and motorway lessons to the public. Lessons can be paid for per lesson or in blocks for a greater discount.

At Tim's School of Motoring only fully approved driving instructors (ADI's) registered with the DSA are allowed to train learners on there own and being totally committed to (CPD) Continued Personal Development helps keep training standards high.

Tim is an excellent, patient and supportive teacher which really help combat the nerves I experienced whilst learning to drive.

I'd highly recommend Tim for any one wishing to learn how to drive, he's very knowledgeable and will make you a safer driver in the end!

I passed with Tim back in 2017, he was the best instructor I had. As had two others before him. He is very patient & teaches really well. I passed my test 2nd time and it only took me a few months of lessons to get to my point of being ready for my test. One of the good things too was that Tim is very flexible and works most days till late so is easy to book a lesson around work & college/uni etc. An his cars are lovely to learn in. I always recommend him to people looking to start lessons

I learnt to drive with Tim when I was 4 months pregnant and wanted to pass before I had my baby and I passed when I was 8 months :-). I was very nervous when I started learning to drive with Tim but he quickly put me at ease as he is very laid back and patient. He never shouts if you make a mistake. Tim always made time for my lessons even though they were late at night. Would definitely recommend him!!!

A true gent and thorough professional. Always on time and always a full lesson. Lessons are relaxed and not rushed as Tim is a very patient teacher but also felt like I was not kept back and made to take more lessons than necessary. Does not try too hard to be your 'mate' like some instructors but we became good friends and I always enjoy giving Tim a wave when I see him out and about giving new people lessons. I recommend Tim to everyone who mentions they are taking lessons. Thank you so much

I was 40, very nervous, and finally decided to take up driving. I genuinely never thought I'd get my license, but somehow, after a moderate amount of lessons, Tim pulled me through and I passed both my practical and theory tests first time!!!! Choosing the right driving instructor is important and Tim is patient, understanding and an excellent instructor. He is honest and trustworthy and I cannot recommend him enough. He made me feel comfortable and gave me the right amount of encouragement. Plus he accepts PayPal!! He does not "pick up" other learners during your hour, the lesson is dedicated entirely to you. I recommend Tim 100% to anyone who asks.

Tim was a very patient driving instructor who gave me full confidence when I was driving. He was very clear and helpful with his instructions and made learning to drive less stressful and enjoyable. He entrusted me early on driving in quiter areas and steadily progressed on to the test area which I feel made me a better driver as well as going over any things we felt I struggled with. I passed my test first time after 20 hours. I would highly recommend Tim to any new learner.

Tim is very patient and has an excellent teaching manner. His only focus was to get me up to a high standard to pass my test. I've heard of instructors drawing out courses to maximise the number of lessons a student takes to make more money. Tim is genuine and would only give you the amount of lessons needed to become a good driver.

I'm in my mid 50's and never wanted to drive, until earlier this year all out of the blue I just fancied having a try. So booked a few lessons with Tim and I really enjoyed it. Just recently I passed my test thanks to Tims endless patients and commitment. His lessons are good value for money, you always get your full time and he always goes over any mistakes that you make until "you get it". Thanks Tim!

His aim was always to get me on the road as soon as I was ready. He pushed me when I needed to be pushed. His patience is admirable as I dont think I could do his job. I felt very safe in the car with him and would recommend him to anyone. Learning with Tim is something you would never regret.

I went through 4 instructors and had almost give up hope until i found Tims Scool of Motoring.
From my 1st lesson i new i would pass with him. Everything was so relaxed, he would take time explaining things and must have had the patience of a saint with me.. His calm and freindly manner definately help me be more confident and not so afraid of making mistakes. If i felt i wanted to try something he would let me try as often as i wanted whilst making sure the lesson was a constructive one. GREAT

Tim shows great patience on me. He doesn't show anger or any over-reaction while I make silly mistakes. Tim is certainly NOT one of those driving instructors that holding you in lessons forever, saying bad stuffs or comparing you and other students to make you feel down, or making you booking double hours for greediness of cash. He let me taking my test when he feels I am both good and confident enough for it. I passed mine in first go. I am pleased with his teaching. Nice and fast.

I first started learning to drive when I was 19, had a bad experience so gave up. I kept on putting off and off until I was 36, when I started again. I was very nervous, but Tim put me really at ease. He was very patient and the lessons were at a great pace that suited me. I chose to do mostly 2 hour lessons and some 1 hour lessons to fit in with work and family. I also found his prices were very competitive. I passed my driving test first time. I would recommend Tims School of Motoring.
