Driving » International Licence

hi i was sent this? I have Russian driving license and International driving permit. Am I eligable to take driving lessons at your school or I need provisional driving license anyway?

It's basically quite simple. The pupil is Russian so has come from outside the EU. As a result, his Russian license is valid in this country for 12 months from his date of entry into the UK. After that he has to have a British or EU license to drive on UK roads. Basically, if he's been in the country more than 12 months he needs a UK provisional before he can take lessons on the road. If he's been here less than 12 months his Russian license will cover him, but he'll need a UK provisional license to take the test. Phew!!
