From day one, I was encouraged to be positive and believe in myself that I would pass on my first attempt (and did!). My expectations were set realistically. Reversing was a problem but my instructor was determined I would crack it!

My instructor was totally honest about how many lessons I'd need. I got picked up from work or home, and paid him for a block of lessons up front or just lesson by lesson.

My advice to anyone thinking of learning to drive? Stick with it. It does become second nature as you learn and practice.

I have tried a few driving schools and instructors and stayed and eventually passed my test with Esmail School of Motoring. The instructor is experienced, punctual and correct. I always had full or even overtime lessons, and we covered the entire DSA programme for the test. The instructor was always meticuluous about how I performed on various parts of the course and always provided feedback for improvement. I also found him a reliable person, which I think is very important for a driving course.
